Students can benefit from blogging because they will have their writing shared online instead of just with their teacher on paper. This will hopefully cause them to take more care and pride in their writing, knowing that others are reading it. Students can also view others' writings and make comments and/or suggestions. A blog could be used to respond to teacher-assigned prompts, but also for student-selected topics. Finally, blogging has become a very common form of communication of ideas in the cyber world. Students will be continuing to develop 21st century skills as they learn to blog and create a blog of their own.
